NADCAP Accreditation - Customer Requirements and Scope

Hi All,

This may seem like a very silly question, but here goes anyway: -

Is NADCAP only required by an Organisation if their Customers require it, and if not, is it a case of an Organisation approaching it's Customer's to request what processes they should include in the scope for accreditation?

Oops, sorry, that was two possibly silly questions.

I view it more as a business decision. But yes some customers require it, but while your current may not require it, but it might help you atain new customers. Similar decisions were made by many companies in the 1990's when ISO 9000 was growing in popularity.

As to what to include in the scope, that would depend on what special processes your company currently preformed and which will offer the best return on investment. Some will choose to start off with one or two processes and later on add to their scope.
