Hello All!
Dealing with quite a sticky situation here.
I'd like to know what NADCAP and/or ASTM E1742-12 requires for degree of accuracy of calibration of eye loupe reticule or optical comparators.
Both NADCAP Checklist AC7114/4 Rev. J and ASTM E1742-12 requires an initial calibration on a scaled reticle (our reticle has a thickness scale for observing anomalies and determining size).
My assumption is that NADCAP does not dictate a spec. but accepts OEM specs. I'd like to fact check this would you good folks.
I'd like to send a loupe and reticle out for calibration which has been used on RT but the loupe is so old I can't tell who the OEM is - no P/N, no S/N, etc. I've yet to locate any past cal certs. The loupe, of course has no product identification as well.
Thanks,
-J
