7. Your pet peeve in quality (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration) Sometimes it is a "thankless job" and quite a bit of "shooting the messenger". Many people thank that quality only originates and stays within the Quality Department.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? I would integrate the "quality" word in every job description, in the workplace! Everyone is responsible for quality in what they do, as well as safety.

Hi Folks,
New to the site. I periodically do google searches and find myself winding up here so I thought I'd join. I am an Ops guy in the fastener industry. I am fairly new to the industry so many things to learn. Hopefully at some point Ill be able to contribute to others in the forum.

Well I am about 62 yrs old male from Nepal and am presently teaching medicine to undergraduates and postgraduates as well, in one of the best known medical colleges in Nepal,Nepalgunj Medical College.I am an Internist and A clinical Gastroerterologist. Apart from these usual clinical works I am very much interested in studying HUMAN ANTHROPOLOGY and ethnic behavior in relation to contemporary political structure.I like reading books and enjoy life in whatever dimensions it comes.I consider sexsual behavior as PRIME DETERMENAT of human personality.I am sorry if it is turning out as a boring lecture. Just Taking Moment to Introduce Myself
My Name is Randall Breeding
I am currently a Quality Manager working for a auto parts supplier launching what is a rarity in these times, A New Manufacturing Facility in the Detroit Area.
Obviously that means I am working in the Automotive field.
I have been in the quality arena since 1985 and have worked in the appliance industry, I have been in the tier ones since 1987 when I joined a Japanese supplier in Monroe Michigan.
I have a lot of plant experience as well as Leadership experience up to a Director Level in a fortune 150 company.
My pet peeve in quality is watching a new wave of OEM leadership relearn some many of the lessons that were so painfully learned by those folks they "bought out" to make way for the young and improve efficiency.

I am E. Leo Streich; I am currently the contracts (government) and transportation administrator for a heavy haul trucking company out in southern California. I received my Six Sigma Black Belt in 2006 from a Caterpillar dealer although I have not had more than a couple years of solid experience. Although I have always sought to improve whatever I work on my first real experience with process improvement came when I went to work for a company that was subcontracted to repair the same tractors that I operated while on active duty for the USMC. As anyone that has worked with the government knows there was excessive documentation and at the time it was all hand processed and very labor intensive. Not anymore.

My new company seems to be traveling down the same path of government subcontracting and quality management is a concern for DoD and my Google search for ISO 9001 Quality Manuals landed me here. While I do not have enough time in grade in the world of quality to want to change anything I do have a pet peeve with management types that take the "not in my backyard" approach to management analysis. Companies that do not embrace change management will eventually have a change in management (I heard that somewhere). I look forward to discussions with many of you although it will in large part be one sided as I will be doing the asking and you all the discussing. Thanks.

thank you for your welcome. I work as the Quality Management Officer for a Community Service organisation . My job is to set up a quality program for this organisation and keep it complying with a set of standards for the program they are funded by the government to run.
Our funding relys on meeting these standards.

Writing policies and procedures and doing audits is what i find difficult.

Especially audits. starting from scratch.

If anyone has an internal audit they have run I would to get a look at their form or template, just to get an idea how to design one for my standards.

Personal info. I am mature aged, married 32 years, have two children and 2 year old twin grandchildren.
