Hello my name is Scott and I am new to this site...Hopefully I will be able to pick your brains regarding ISO 27001:2005. My client wants to be certified here shortly and I have been tasked to assist in the process. Since I just started I am not really sure where in the process they are. If I would take a guess just a bit into the initiation phase..

Hi,(1) I`m Boris Lastro,(2) assistant director(4) in Serbian National Metrology Institute, but with only 6 months expirience. In previous life i was high school physics profesor. (5) One month ago it was decided that I should become Quality Manager, (7) so I`m in a kind of panic.(6) I am also jazz guitar player.(8) I would simplify things to the final extent, and from the other side bring more mathematical stuff ( there is no contradictory, i belleive) and also I would like to introduce more psyho-biological discoveries about any kind of motivation. Since I am working in a system of laboratories for calibration and testing, I am looking for ISO/IEC 17 025 informations, control sheets, flow diagrams, advices for beginner...

I copied your post to a new thread called Helping rewrite the Quality Manual and Procedures - Hints wanted in the ISO 9001 forum (assuming that is the std your system is based on), in the hope that it will attract replys there.

Hi! I recently registered here after a friend suggested that I join and particpate. The site looks like a great exchange of information and ideas.

3. current industry: medical devices Previous: banking, aerospace/airline
4. Philips Healthcare
5. I've been annoying Quality professionals for about 12 years now as a Lean, Six Sigma, engineer type
6. A very right-brained person in a very left-brained role. For fun, I'm a home brewer so I can run DOEs.
7. My quality related pet peeve is too many folks just reacting and not thinking through their course of action. Even though it keeps us improvement types employed.
8. The folks who run the businesses would see the value of doing it right the first time, rather than budgeting to hit it 2-3 times.
