Re: New Folks - Please Take a Minute & Introduce Yourself/Say Hello! (2009-2010)
Not so new, but I've been gone for a while (unemployed for a year and a half).
1. Name - David D. Hartman
2. Job Title or explanation of what you do - Principal Quality Engineer - NASA GSFC rep at Ball Aerospace Technology Center in Boulder, CO.
3. Industry you're in or have been in - Currently in space systems industry. Been in Govt/Mil electronics (aerospace and communications for over 20 years - and commercial industry for about 4).
4. Company you work for and location - I am employed by ManTech International of Greenbelt, MD, and represent the Goddard Space Flight Center.
5. Length of time in quality function - 26 years
6. Something personal that sets you apart - I don't know if this really sets me apart, but I live by the KISS policy along with a firm grasp of common sense.
7. Your pet peeve in quality (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration) - Reams and reams of text documents that are too cumbersome to be useful.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? - Ensure that every employee received training in the seven quality tools, and knew that they had the authority and responsibility to put them to use.
