2. Job Title or explanation of what you do - Project Quality Engineer (Establishing Project Quality Systems and Corporate Quality Systems. I am the only Quality Engineer in a company of 100 employees).
3. Industry you're in or have been in - Currently in Clean Air Quality Control Systems. Previously in DOD Mfg - Missile Defense Radar Systems.
4. Company you work for and location - Powerspan Corp, Portsmouth NH
5. Length of time in quality function - 12 years
6. Something personal that sets you apart - I come from a large family (10 kids). The result is that I am very independent while I functional very well in teams.
7. Your pet peeve in quality (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration) Many people (including Mfg Engineers and Supply Chain personnel) do not understand or care about the distinction between First Piece and First Article. Many people use the terms interchangeably.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do? I would make it mandatory that all companies have Quality Report directly to the CEO. Many companies have Quality report to Sr. Mgmt through Ops and engineering thus reducing the overall effectiveness of the Quality Engineering effort.

Hi Tom...

I'm directly report to CEO.... with the level of asst mgr.
but i have an Asst GM handling operation... and report directly to CEO...
i can voice out problem, but have to ensure "TALK WITH DATA".

7. Your pet peeve in quality (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration): People assuming that Quality is the sole responsibility of the Quality Department. My understanding is that everyone in the company is responsible for the quality of our products.
8. If you could change the world of quality, what would you do?: EMPHASIS THAT EVERYBODY IS RESPONSIBLE ON QUALITY
