Welcome to the Cove, everyone! The Elsmar Cove forum continues to expand and grow. For it to continue to do so, please take a minute and help someone out when you can! Helping each other is important, so Jump Right In!

This is the Introductions thread. If you have a Question, please start a new discussion thread in the appropriate discussion forum and ask your question(s). You might also want to do a Search and read through some existing discussion threads to see if your question has already been asked and answered.

This is a carry-over to change the 'Introduction' questions which was requested. There are minor changes to the original questions Greenraisin posted way back in April 2001. That thread was closed (it was very long) and a new one started. Since we are sorta changing the questions, the second introductions thread is being closed today.

So - This is the 3rd introduction thread...

The new questions (which are 'suggestions' and you are not required to answer any or all of them) are:

1. Name. (Caution - Remember this *IS* the internet)
2. Job Title or explanation of what you do.
3. Industry you're in or have been in.
4. Company you work for and location.
(Caution - Remember this *IS* the internet)
5. Number of years in the business world.
6. Something personal that sets you apart.
7. Your pet peeve about business practices. (pet peeve is a minor annoyance that can instill a great level of frustration)
8. If you could change something in the business world, what would that be?

Hi Folks,
My name is Tim and I'm a QAE working with an Acousto-Optics / RF Driver manufacturer. To date my experience with Elsmar has been as a observer, so this is a big step. I have 20+ years in the business world ranging from simulators to cell phones. My pet peeve is people that think quality is a hassle and that would be the one thing I would like to change.

Hi my name is Andrew
I'm currently in the civil construction industry as a hands on HSEQ manager which really means i manage myself and do whatever is required to keep the job, personnel and environment "safe" all the while tweaking the quality assurance system and doing the quality control/inspection stuff. It's great. Prior to getting into civil engineering I managed the same areas in the oil and gas and nuclear industry.
My current location is the Sth Pacific but have worked extensively in the UK, Mainland Europe, Nth America, Korea and Australia.
I'm 57 years old so whether that gives me 40 years experience or 1 year times 40 is anyones guess.
I married a Kiwi whom I met in London in Australia
I truly get peeved at people who think they have an accredited management system when the reality is they have a system certified by an accredited body.
If I could I'd change my swing so as tobe able to generate even a slight fade
