Involved with Metrology Calibration labs running to the ISO 17025 guide (technical guide), currently doing my second "startup" (new lab) and have been involved with 4 in total over the last 12 years.

Found this site while browsing for a calibration database (but will have to build one again for the new lab, theres nothing that fits excatly what i need) and have decided to hang around, interesting conversations to be found here :)

Technical Services Lead (Quality Manager) for full service contractors (dirt work to commisioning) on heavy industrial projects primarily oil and gas but a bit of of Nuke work as well
I'm a contractor with a couple of clients but for the last 2 years Flint Energy Services has demanded 90% of my current resources. Recently I was the technical services lead for the construction of Shell's Albian Sand Expansion (Froth Plant in an oil sands production facility) this was "turned over" last month and now I'm at Suncor's Firebag site doing the same roll on a variety of scopes trying to get Phase 3 up and running as well as tackling some of the early work for Firebag 4.

I have been involved in industrial trades since 1977 and started as a brick/block layers helper and a plumbers helper and have been involved with all trade disciplines in one way or another since

My biggest pet peeve is the believe the quality manager is responsible for quality (more on this later but I've seen some good threads on Linked In on this)

8. If you could change something in the business world, what would that be?

Hmmmmm, I think Rodney King had it right "Can't we all just get along" Enhanced communication, transparency and trust within organisations and external to subs and clients
