New Ford CQI 15 Rollout Requirement and reference to ESBC24-5005-AB

I've just received an email indicating that Ford is now rolling out the CQI 15 requirement by the end of Sept 2012.

Within the documentation I recieved there is a reference to a Ford specification for section & etch ESBC34-5005-AB. I have gone to the Ford website to pick up this specification however I was unable to locate it.

Has anyone else seen this specification ESBC24-5005-AB? Or does anyone know where to locate it.

CQI 15 is already released by AIAG " Special Process - Welding System Assessment" and Ford Motor Company is already a core member of CQI -9 / AIAG.

AIAG also specify the Cut and Etch specification ,

Could you please elaborate your question

After 2 years....

While Ford are a member of AIAG, I don't think that this means that every AIAG procedure is mandatory for all Ford suppliers.

Fords latest specifics state that they "reserve the right to mandate CQI-15" . ( or words to that affect.

To me this suggests that you only need to conform to CQI-15 if Ford ask you to.

CQI-15 mandates a dedicated weld expert on each site. Surely it would be ridiculous to impose this on every supplier that had even a simple projection weld operation.

( I think a weld expert is also required to do the audit ).
