In my humble perception this against the spirit of TS to keep the database secret, as when we claim that TS is applicable for entire automotive supply chain and we are living in a global village ( Auto- village of 21st century not the Cart Village of 17th century) , then we have to share the knowledge and information openly .

IATF is still working as an “Adhoc” body. The members like Big 3’s have to take up such matters

Actually the IAOB and/or IATF does have a database. I hear reference to it during witness audits now and then. Apparently it's "top secret" though.

Yes, they have a database which CB's are required to update on a continuous basis. I was referring to have it publicly available, real-time and on-line, so any interested party can check the certification status of a supplier.

Do anybody knows what is "The IATF Auditor Guide for ISO/TS16949" (see communiqué 2009-008) and why is it available only from SMMT?

Do anybody knows what is "The IATF Auditor Guide for ISO/TS16949" (see communiqué 2009-008) and why is it available only from SMMT?

The document replaces the previously know IATF Certification Body Auditor Competency Criteria for Auditing to ISO/TS16949:2002.

I imagine it's an identical or modified version of the auditor competency criteria mentioned. I have a copy of it from my last TS auditor recertification. It basically covers the activities of the various stages of TS audits, and the required auditor knowledge and skill requirements for each stage.

I don't know why the IATF website shows it's only available from SMMT. I'm guessing it will probably be available from other organizations soon.

IATF Certification Bodies shall ensure they issue the PDF file to all their sponsored IATF auditors.

IATF policy to keep the guidance documents “secret” and limited to samall community is not understandable.

Auditing is not a Policing ( from Police), and knowledge needs to be shared at both ends Auditor and Auditee


Note: I am IATF certified TS 16949:2002 Auditor from SMMT, but I left the certification body about six months back, my TS auditor certificate is still valid ( in papers)

Can you shift to another Certification Body after Stage 2 Certification Cleared?

What is the process?

For Example:

I have ISO/TS 16949 Certification from Lloyds and now I wish to change to SGS etc.
