Hi,

I would like to suggest you.

1- The first thing is that try to know who are your customers and what kind of services/product they get. and how your services help them in their business.

2- Complete write down your organization activities, what you, your boss and other workers do?

3- Make a flow process of every activity being performed by all of you, and activity sequence and interactiion with other activities.
Like if any body receive call from any company to get your services, then what your company does. write down all these. from a call/fax/email receiving
and at the end of completion of service.

These will help you in designing your processes.

Aslo read ISO standard for complete knowledge. All the clauses of standard are necessary, but in section 7 you can exclude any class which u think your organization is not performing.

CoKo: you went from almost giving up/losing your job to 10 days until the audit...you skipped all the good stuff in between!

Did management come around and offer more support? Did you take the initiative? Do explain :)

Well ,the countdown has started. :mg:
We expect the auditor :mg: tomorrow:mg: .
I asked the management consultant to provide me more info about the company and he gave me the quality manual. I do not like it much and I will certainly change it after June.
:read: On June I have exams at the University ,and that is why I was logged off the cove for so much time. :read:
I hope the auditor will show a consulting behaviour instead of a punisher.

Coko, I understand your concerns. I too work for a small company who decided I would make a great Quality Manager and would like me to get us to the point of ISO 9001 compliance. :mg: In addition to QM, I am also the Government Property Manager, Security Officer and Technical Writer. They think I should be able to do the ISO maybe 1 or 2 hours a day, or a week. :confused:

I am not that familiar with ISO, much less QM, so I have been doing a whole lot of reading on the subject. I have also been reading many of the posts on this site, which seems to be really helpful.

Best of luck to you on your audit! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :cfingers:

Did the auditor recommend you for certification? Was the audit only one day?
Any non conformances? Oportunities for Improvement?

Success !
One day used for the audition. The auditor insisted on the staff training support and documentation.:mg: He was right. In a services company it is crucial for the new workers to learn exactly what the previous guys know and more. We had not developed it enough:bonk: :read: and with the help of a word processor we immidiately wrote down an education plan and created the forms needed for the requirement. He stayed there from 09:00 until 18:30. He was kind enough to advise us and wait for the result:evidence: . He also insisted on a close report for each of us regarding training seminars and how much we understand them as well as the need to insist on more training or not.:agree:
The new version of the QMS is allready running and all associated documentation is on place.:cool:
I am very happy and looking forward to the next revision and edition of the QMS.
