New to ISO 9001 - Where to begin?

I'm surprised that no one mentioned buying ISO 9002:2016 as well

I had not heard of it until now. I assume you have it and recommend it. How muuch?? (US$)

I admit, I have seen so many "How To..." files and web pages that I'm overwhelmed with regard to advice on implementing ISO 9001 almost all off them are essentially the same. I keep coming back to This Is Not Rocket Science.

I really like the document "ISO9001_2015_Guidance_on_the_Process_Approach" published by the International Organization for Standardization.

I think it further expands on Tagin's comments, and guides you through the standard from that direction (i.e. the processes).

ISO is an organization. ISO 9001 should be applied to the whole organization, focusing on EXTERNAL customers. Only then, it's objectives can be achieved. Obviously in very large corporations with multiple business areas, plants, etc...the standard can be applied selectively to parts of the corporation.
