News Letters for Employee Awareness

I have reviewed alot of info on the cove (so glad somewhere to get help and ideas from those that have experiance) concerning employee awareness. I have read many thoughts on the way awareness can be conveyed and those that agree and disagree on certain ideas. My company has about 50 people or so and let me start by saying that management has left the ISO job to me. when i say this I mean that they support the ISO concept but leave it to me to "get things on track". Well our shop and assy. guys are fresh fish when it comes to our QMS. I wanted to start a newsletter to start awareness, but like most peole if it just has the tho shalt know the quality policy it will not go into their memory banks. SOOO I wanted to add some humor to kind of grab their attention:biglaugh: any ideas were i can get some good comic strips or other ideas that might grab their attention. Humor has a funny way of getting ideas across.

I do not want to spoil the fun but it seems to me that if Management would step on a (real) soap box and explain to all employees why they believe that the Quality Management System (NOT ISO) is important for the customers and the organization, you would have the biggest attention getter you can imagine. While I am in favor of humor, it can also trivialize the whole idea; here today...gone tomorrow.

Good idea. Humor should add a bit of life to it. Have you tried looking through the Dilbert web site? I have always thought that strip had some very close to home humor for quality (and other business situations).

Re: News Letters for Awareness

I have to agree if management would show a little more company wide support this would help ALOT. A step forward is that our new president "seams" to support or QMS, time will tell just how much I can get him to help push so to speak the requirements. As far as comunnicating our QMS to people that already are looking at the "its not my job to know" feeling I must do something. Other managers look at it with a very disearning outlook. (E.G. "people wont care or see the importance"). :nopity:My outlook is if I can push enough in a sorta lite way I can get people to know the requirements, documentation, etc. through shear repetition and determination.

I don't want to bust your bubble here, however, if ALL Management doesn't support the Quality Management System, no matter how humorous you may make it, it will fail. :notme:
