your trainer needs some training himself

This is like a disease. Seems to plague trainers in many areas including those from my country. Whatever happened to CPD (continuing professional development)?

Personally, I would like internal auditors to be aware of the changes however minor. You can use a memo and/or a short briefing and you can consider that as training.

Anybody doing their job would have already covered this. In spades. I changed the ISO 9000 release number in the policy and manual. Most anyone who has been around for a while would do the same. I am interested to hear from those who cannot just do this, those who have to make material changes as a result of the new standard. Any takers?

I have met a number of people who are using the opportunity to modify their system whilst doing the minor changes - probably looking for an excuse to put it off until now :rolleyes:

There are also the poor unfortunates who copied the words of the standard into their manual and procedures, they have a bit more work to do. I wonder how the people who used one of the more notorious non-accredited CB's in the UK are going on? Their manual (and it is the same one for all companies with a name change) is just a re-write of the standard. :D

I maybe wrong here but what i have learned from a trainer recently is that Internal auditors that qualify for ISO 9001-2000 must be re-certified to 9001-2008 in order to preform their duties as internal auditors.

Your trainer needs to be tossed from the classroom. I'm a trainer and I deliver accredited lead auditor courses and my "re-training" consisted of....NADA! Nothing other than some familiarization with the language.

I voted yes because there are clarifications where a "minimum" system would have to make changes to comply with the requirements.

I have NOT changed my manual and have successfully cleared our first surveillance audit for the 2008 version.

I can't wait until our next audit. It will be after our ERP software is implemented...should make things a little easier regarding documentation. :)

Sorry guna, your trainer needs some training himself on internal auditor qualification! Internal Auditors require competence over anything else for conducting efective audits. Your 2000 version Internal Auditor training will serve you as well as the 2008 version training, as there are NO new requirements on which you need to be trained.

So, there is NO such requirement. Such requirement would only apply to third party auditors who were certified with the 2000 version and now need to be re-certified to the 2008 version.

Ciao. :cool:

There is another possibility, one which I consider more likely. The trainer HAS been trained. On how to sell additional training classes to the unwary.

Exactamundo.

It's always wise to be wary of advice given by someone who stands to benefit financially if you take their advice.

It's clear to me, there's a problem here and the best corrective action is......training! It's used so many times as the reason it must be correct!

Sorry - couldn't help myself........:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Gee, I didn't think of that! And infact, it IS actually part of his job to do that! ;)
