This happens hundreds of times a day.
It took me three tries, two with Dell, one with Lenovo, to get the laptop I ordered...and finally gave up with the third one and kept it...it's close enough and better than waiting for it to be "right"...
Four times for my cell phone...and I lost track with my landline/internet provider (took 7 months).
Good thought, and {maybe} correct...but not practical. I don't have the time or resources to sue them all...
"Do we tell our customers the truth about what we will ship and when...or would we rather lie by omission and spend more settling the complaints? Who is it that we want this company to be? Good, or the people buy from as a last resort? Please consider before answering that we are talking about the three biggest customers we have, and they are only asking us to talk to each other."
That approach has worked better for me in the past...FWIW...
