Numbering vs. Bullets: When to use which?

I have nothing to add but I must say that if I tried arguing about this with the people I work with I'd get all kinds of weirds looks.

Seeing these kinds of discussions online makes me feel less crazy and like I'm not the only person in the world that cares about these kinds of things lol.

I do understand @kys123 I get the same kind of looks like "why are you even worried about this?" I worry because I care about my company's documentation and I don't want an outsider (auditor, customer...) to think that we don't have our ducks in a row per se.

I have a great blank Word template for automatic numbering, matching text and matching bullets that I can share. I don't see how to add an attachment, how are documents shared here on the Cove?

I think that the indenting numbering bullet debate is more about format than content. There are also some considerations drawn from the legal profession.

I would challenge you to remember your audience - it’s not the auditor or some other ‘enforcer’. Think about things from your user’s perspective. Will the person(s) who must execute your instructions care? Will they be confused or will your organization add to their understanding?

I once created an entire QMS system of SOPs using flowcharts and very few words. Numbering only to indicate sequence where the flowchart was inadequate. Work instructions were limited to a single page so the operator could post it at their workstation for quick reference.

I think there's a certain number of posts you must have before you can post attachments. You have only one right now.
