Another question I got for which I'd be curious to have your opinion: we are copy-pasting standard functions and their failures to several Gears along a "drivetrain".
For example, one of the failures is that the torque transmission is noisy. Now one of the engineers rightly noted that the risk of noise is higher in the faster rotating gears.
I told him that the standard FMEA methodology unfortunately did not include a way to take into account that sort of nuance in the S,O,D ranking. Would you claim otherwise?
