Optic Patchcord Cables - Does 8.3 (Design) Apply Here? ISO 9001:2015

I need some advice from the Gurus here on the forum. We are in the business of building fiber optic patchcord cables. We typically buy all the components (cable, fiber, tubing, connectors), but on occasion, we buy custom made parts (of our design) from our suppliers that are incorporated into the end product. In this case, does 8.3 apply to our business?

Yes it would since you do design certain products.

You might be able to exclude certain products from the Scope. Look at your Scope and see if it correctly identifies what the organization does.
