"Where the organization chooses to outsource any activity within the scope of its quality management system, the organization shall ensure that all applicable elements of its quality management system are satisfied and shall maintain responsibility for product conformance to specified requirements, including applicable API product specifications, associated with product realization."
We outsource some work, Heat Treat, etc. and we understand that
However, we buy a lot of raw material from distributors who outsource a process that is totally independent of us. We buy a tube to a certain dimension that they send out to have drilled to size for us. We inspect it on receipt and any discrepancies are the responsiblilty of the distributor but we dont have a business relationship with the company who did the drilling.
Is that considered "Outsourcing?"
in relation to our Quality Manual?
