Hi,
I occasionally was hired to help small machine shops to do their PPAP.
It only took me 2 or 3 contact interviews to discus the flowchart, used machines and measuring equipment to make their PPAP.
except for one or two remarks from the End customer about measuring frequency there were no problems.
Mr. Happy
Sorry, you cannot "DO" PPAP. You can only "DO"
APQP.
So, your client and you did it backwards: PPAP requires these documents and we will give the customer what they want.
Instead, what the correct approach is: we will analyze the part, develop the process, analyze the process, determine the risks, analyze the controls, add controls and minimize our risk and the customer risk, (of course not all steps of APQP would be required in every case).
Sloppy APQP work results either in lots of customer problems or an process that is overcontrolled and very expensive to run. Both results are not good for the organization.
