Hi there,
I'm looking at the EMC provisions given by 60601-2-40.
This particular standard was published in 1998; there does not seem to be a more recent version.
For EMC, it references 60601-1-2:1993 (1st edition). 60601-1-2 2nd edition seems to be in common use and the 3rd edition is actually released.
My immediate annoyance is that in order to make any sense of the amendments, I must apparently buy the 1993 1st edition, since the section numbers the amendments refer to don't make sense in the 60601-1-2 2nd edition (which I have).
But does this also mean that to test to 60601-2-40, we must perform EMC testing using the long-ago obsoleted 1st edition of 60601-1-2? If not, how do we apply the particular standard? Do we use our judgement to figure out what the corresponding amendments would be in the 2nd edition?
Thanks in advance for any light to be shed on this question.
