Auditor certification to what?
Hi Guys,
I been away for a while now from the auditing game, but I still have the bug.
It's been about 2 1/2 years since I willingly allowed my ISO9001 IRCA LA certification status to lapse and, I don't regret it one bit (Well maybe a little)
.
I always had a problem with the registrar certification process, I firmly believe that getting into the auditing game (As it's called) was a good money earner only for the registrars.
For you guys who failed (Yes Failed) the testing, well, I guess you just didn't do well on the test day (Dr Deming was right I guess), It took me a number of times to pass the IRCA test. Give yourself a pat on the back for even getting through the week long waste of time.
I went through an extremely well known registrar and failed it twice (Oh yes), some of you guys might remember my griping after my failure (Sorry)
I had been involved in the quality arena for some time before the registrars hijacked the certification process and, I would agree with you when you get ****ed off with other bodies who claim to have the best body of knowledge regarding auditing.
I am in fact in favour of the ASQ, CQA certification process only because it says that you have passed a body of knowledge regarding the profession of auditing in general. ISO auditing is a different beat altogether.
You have to ask yourself some important questions regarding your motives for wishing to be an auditor of any kind. It's a service that is offered at the base level both internaly and externaly and, to be an auditor is only part of the quality equation.
For what it's worth, I would employ an ASQ,CQA before I would employ an ISO dedicated auditor.
