Big Sigh

I dunno

Thought I was going to get some intelligent responses.

Have I said that clause 7.5.4 doesn't apply. No!

Of course customer property has to be protected, its in the clause!

But Preservation of product must apply to the product not a product.

Otherwise we would, using the sorts of arguments that have been put forward, have to protect the knobs on our doors because that's a product.

How anyone would think we would be stupid enough to hand over a broken traffic light with a COC is beyond me.

Sigh :frust:

It's all probably moot as Ivan the Terrible (GM of assessing company) has now waded into the argument so I shall now write two paragraphs of twaddle into the manual and everyone but me will be happy.

And yes I do apologise for above comments but at least you can see what I was thinking.

You must pay close attention to Note 1 b) under ISO 9001:2008 Section 1.1, which clarifies what the term product means in the context of the standard. Any component, sub-assembly, firmware, etc. is a product. It goes beyond the finished (assembled) product.

No. You're still missing the point and either not listening or not understanding.

Thank You

Sydney is right.

Finally got it through my thick head.

I do appreciate all the responses I've had even if it doesn't always appear that way.

Nice one Mike - it sometimes takes a while for some of these things to make sense and thanks for coming back to explain.

PE-2011,

You must have customers to be in business. What do you do to determine the requirements and fulfill the requirements of your customers?

Identifying the goods and services you sell to your customers would also be extremely helpful in determining which parts of clause 7 you can exclude per clause 1.2.

Likely candidates would include 7.3 Design; 7.5.2 'Special processes'; 7.5.4 Customer property; 7.6 Monitoring and measuring equipment.

There is very little detail to go on here.
