Do we need to take note that the baits, cages and insecutors have to be numbered and located in a locator map?

Do we need to have a log book for pest control?

I’ll be dividing the logbook into 4 sections – Rat Bait, Rat Cage, Insecutor and Fumigation
Each section will have the following information

Rat Bait
Date of Installation
Bait Used
Date of Inspection
No of rodents/insects caught
Remarks

Rat Cage
Date of Inspection
No. of Rodents/insects caught
Remarks

Insecutor
Date of Inspection
Type / No of insects found
Remarks

Fumigation
Date of Fumigation
Time of Fumigation
Applicator N
ame of chemical used
Type / No of insects found

Any comments or suggestions if I have missed something will greatly be appreciated.

Re: Pest control

That's a very impressive map! :applause:

Ka Pilo, what industry are you working in? Medical devices? These traps are in office areas too, or not?

I do think it's important to regularly and methodically check those traps. I wouldn't want a productive one to sit too long with its victim inside...

Based off “Syrup Preparation, Ingredients, Bottles etc” I’d take it is either pharm or food. Either way I’d say you would also want to also define on your map where the insect control can NOT be located. Make sure it is reviewed and signed off by the company rep doing the work (3rd party) or training records if doing so internally.

With the bait stations you’ve created a “protected zone/minefield” around the access points to the storage areas (sugar, ingredients etc) and around the mfg work area to keep the critters at bay which is the way you want it. It’s not necessary explicit though which areas are off limits (within the storage area, directly around the bottlers) and cannot be sprayed or pest control contact.

Since there are always exceptions (during audits it’s found that control is needed within a protected zone) then it would be documented and controlled as a special event with the appropriate deviation control. Perhaps safer material, defined/limited time frame only, exact locations, reasons why (qty & type of pest), signoffs, determining access source (started just after new pallet source), improvement changes (clean changes, material elevation, increased turnover / allowing material to create shelter points).

Hope it helps.

Indeed.

In agriculture industry. Inside the plant/production area.

I definitely agree.
