what's most interesting is that with the rise in fuel prices, several agri-products were used as bio-fuel which shortened the food supply to fuel producing countries thus causing a massive increase in consumer goods, also oil companies are exploiting the wave that's spread out across the globe.... and exaggerating on the oil prices for massive gains

A food company near my work installed ethanol production in their facility.

News stations in the US have had specials off and on of farmers saying that corn demand is too high.....

So we can expect a huge increase in corn prices soon...

I travel 60 miles each way. I play the pricing game between the cities. Right now in KCMO it is $3.85 but near my work in St. Joseph, MO it is $3.69.

Guess where I'm buying my gas????

At this point, I think the Feds and State Governments should reduce/remove the taxes on Gasoline. That would bring prices down.

When I was in Florida for 2 years then Governor Jeb Bush would sometimes remove the State Tax on Gasoline, and after Hurricanes or warnings he would allow travel on the Toll Hwy for free at no cost.

If they (Government) really want to stimulate the economy, that would be the best way instead of a Tax refund in my opinion. Most of the refunds is just being spent on the Gasoline, not what their original intent was.

New York was talking about suspending the TAX for the summer. By my calculation based on miles driven, miles per gallon, and the tax I would save about $50.00. Is it worth it over a 12 week period?

Then the politicians would then complain that there was no money for road repairs due to the tax reduction and raise taxes some place else.

decreasing or stopping the gas taxes is not going to solve anything, you will just end up being taxed somewhere else. Would you give up a chunk of your paycheck? Well, the govt. isn't going to either.
