New York was talking about suspending the TAX for the summer. By my calculation based on miles driven, miles per gallon, and the tax I would save about $50.00. Is it worth it over a 12 week period?
Currently at $1.34 CAD per liter. With an 81 liter tank it costs about $100 to fill every 2-2.5 weeks. Sad thing is that I calculated how much of my salary goes to gas! If I worked walking distance from home I could make $2/hr less and still have the same net salary just by not having to buy gas!! :mg: Sickening.
decreasing or stopping the gas taxes is not going to solve anything, you will just end up being taxed somewhere else. Would you give up a chunk of your paycheck? Well, the govt. isn't going to either.
If they (Government) really want to stimulate the economy, that would be the best way instead of a Tax refund in my opinion. Most of the refunds is just being spent on the Gasoline, not what their original intent was.
