PFMEA and Control Plan Links

HI,

In our last TS audit our auditor mentioned that any items that are listed on a control plan should be listed on your PFMEA. I agree that this makes sense but I am wondering if this is actually stated in the AIAG manuals anywhere. Is there ever a time when an item could be on the control plan but not the PFMEA?

As far as I know, they are obliged to be linked, because in what other way you can number operations and processes as ID to track everytime you need to explain, show, or check with your own team and with an auditor.

They need to linked to compare among the 3 documents, it's like a formula to execute activity number 10, you must start with 10, and continue to 20, you can call them the secret recipe of your company.
