Hello :bigwave:
Trying to figure out the best way for the Quality Management Documentation Frame. I would like to get some comments on the following statements; are these explaint correctly?
Quality Manual -- System Description (Management Responsibility) refered to SOPs
SOP -- Who, When, What, Where, WHY (Management Responsibility)
WI -- HOW to do things (Department Responsibility)
Data+Records -- Evidence and Results (Department Responsibility)

I am not 100% sure about the implementation of the policy(policies). I think we have the Quality Policy which is included in the Quality Manual but are there any other Policies I should better think about regarding the QMS?

:thanx:

Re: Policies, SOPs and WIs

Some company-wide policies that can be a part of your Management System, besides the Quality Policy:

  • Health, Safety and Environmental Policy (together or separate)
  • Ethics Policy
  • Internet and Software Use Policy
  • RFQ Acceptance Policy
  • Written Communications Policy
    • Marketing and Corporate-image directives
    • Contact points for projects
  • Vacations and Leaves Policy
Some of the above can be combined into or referred from an "Employee Manual".

Whether these are part of your QMS or not is up to you. Quality standards generally do not require it. But IMHO, it is easier to control your management systems if they are all together.

Biss74,

Take a look at 9001:2008, 4.2. This should explain the minimum requirements.
