2011 : _84% of positive answer from n= 14 ; from a population of 34 employees
2012 : 72% of positive answer from n= 24 , from the same population

I think you don't have enough data to be able to make predictions.

The 95% margin of error for 2011 is 20.39, for 2012 it is 11.01.

Fisher's exact test for a difference between two proportions gives a p-value of 0.438.

Statistically there is no difference.

as i said it is a poll based on question rated on likert scale answers. and based on this result , you receive the final score relating to a process, question ...etc you may know it. thanks miner to give me a factual evidences of my thought :)

Hi all

even this question is closed i would wish to discuss further the statistical significance of the polls that almost of organization conduct annually wihtin their employees &/or customers via independant company specialized on these fieled and companies receives surveys results .
What make me wonder is when companies use to compare their results from year to year even the participation rate to these survey ( n= emplyees or customers or ...) is different, can we consider such comparaison result statistical significat and correct or no? i do believe no and as Miner had provide here, another test such the one here is nessecary to compare between the years. and my question is : are the companies aware of that or no ??
thanks in advance
