Hi all,
The equipment is designed to be connected to an AC MAINS having any voltage between 100 V and 240 V.
According to Cl. 7.2.7 of IEC 60601-1, the rated input shall be given as a range (e.g. 2 A - 1 A).
However, equipment marked with only maximum rated input (e.g. max 2 A) is allowed according to IEC 60950.
In the case of ME equipment employs a stand-alone 60950 compliant SMPS which marked with maximum rated input only, does this constitute a failure?
Thanks,
Roland

In the case of ME EQUIPMENT for one or several RATED voltage ranges, the RATED input shall always be given for the upper and lower limits of the range or ranges, if the range(s) is/are greater than ± 10 % of the mean value of the given range.
equipment with a RATED VOLTAGE RANGE shall be marked with either the maximum RATED CURRENT or with the current range
Thanks,
