Hello,
We're developing a medical device (safety class I) which is connected to mains and which includes a LCD display with touch panel.
The previous generations of this device had a mains switch for controlling power to the device and an on/off push button for starting the machine (from a user standpoint).
In the new generation, we don't want the mains switch as it is for us redundant with the unpluggable mains cable and we would like to use the LCD display with touch panel instead of a physical on/off push button in order to start the machine (the LCD will be blank and the user will have to touch it).
Our questions are:

Our questions are:
- Is a mains switch mandatory regarding the IEC60601-1?
- Is a marking such as ON/OFF symbol mandatory around or near the LCD display acting as an on/off button if we clearly explain in the IFU how to start the machine?
