Precise Laser Printer: Recommendation

Hi,

This might be a wrong forum to ask but some of you may have some good recommendations.

We are a small medical device manufacturer and currently print labels on a large office laser printed. The labels are printed on a pre-made cardstock so it does not have to be an actual label printer but a good laser printer for precise printing.

Our labels are 8.5x10" and are seeing a variance from page to page and been put onto getting a better printer for printing labels.

We need the printing to be precise as in location on the paper without much variance. Do any of you have a recommendation or point me in the right direction for a laser printer that is precise?

My opinion on this is to look at Avery Labels. They have templates for their labels. They are manufactured to specific size to fit laser printers. That would be the best option, in my opinion.

We need the printing to be precise as in location on the paper without much variance.

If that expectation is important you need to quantify it and then look for a printer with the right spec. Otherwise someone might think a specific printer is "awesome" but then it's all subjective.

I'm not an expert on printers but I'm guessing all commodity-level printers will give similar results. You probably need something that was designed with this kind of requirement in mind. I would talk to some suppliers and see.

Personally I like Canon printers and have used several over the years, but I don't know how their laser line is (no affiliation).
