PRI - NADCAP Certification requirement - AS9100 audit first before NADCAP audit?

Requirements vary among the Task Groups so you need to refer to that group's audit checklist.

Also check out the other documents available on the PRI website. For example, PD2000 (Governance and Administration of an Industry Managed Product Qualification Program) is a high-level document defining how the Qualified Product Management Council works. Another example would be PD2102, which explains the qualification procedure for the Elastomeric Seals group.

Keep in mind, too, that these checklists (and other documents) are always being updated.

There are tutorials available and also workshops to help you through the process, as well as mentors, as someone noted above.

Good luck!

If your company does not have a current AS9100 Registration, you can submit for an AC7004 one day audit. This checklist is a truncated version of AS9100 and yes, it is based on AS9003. Most manufacturing companies have a registered QMS (AS9100) therefore they do not require the AC7004. Normally this checklist is for NDT laboratories. At the present, there is no requirement (Aerospace) for an NDT laboratory to be ISO17025 Accredited (Competence of Calibration and Testing Laboratories), but if the laboratory has ISO 17025, then AS9100 or AC7004 are not required.:agree1:

The AC7004 checklist is based off the old QS9000 /ISO1994 with the 20 elements. It is being revised this year (approved next year) to be more in line with the process based standards. It will be based ona cobination of 9100, 9003, and the present AC7004.
