Ok, so I am completely upset that our company has not put our lack of a proper hiring process to bed, after years of bumbling about, and now
BS politics of no one wanting to "own it", or have the gumption to take initiative and build something.
So, enough is enough, I am simply going to create and roll out a formal process that is going to work with ISO 9001:2008 6.2.2. and get us results in terms of expediting paperwork, planning structured interviews and measurement of candidates to pick the best people for out job descriptions and requirements.
I have a pretty good idea as to the processes for the different levels that would begin once the resumes and applications come in. Previous to that, we do have a fair structure for throwing out the fishing line-- we just have no clue once the fish bite!
In my mind, none of this is difficult, but would like some input. I am thinking there will be a standard starting steps for all levels, with some adjustments between basic operator vs supervisory, vs admin, vs management.
If anyone can throw out a top 10-12 points (bullet) of procedures that is proven for your mid size to large company, I would greatly appreciate.
I have considered aptitude tests for hand-eye, dexterity, IQ, compassion and the like, but that can come later as a continuous improvement... I just need the foundation to build on.
