Process Monitoring Gage Calibration Requirements - 7.6.3.2 External laboratory

Hi,

ISO/TS requires that an external lab shall be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 if you are used for calibrations.

Question, if we are using an external lab to calibrated measuring equipment that are not directly used for release the product (doesn't measured directly the productcharacteristics), but used only to monitor the process as speed, temperature, ... Must that lab also be accredited to 17025 ?

If yes, can we approve that lab on ourself by doing an audit based on 17025 if it's not accr. according 17025 ?

Thanks in advance for a reaction.

Best regards,

Filip

You could also request a waive to your Customers if the Lab is not certified vs ISO 17025, related to your first question.

As to the second question , I think yes as per note of the Standard ISO TS
