1) Product=Service, in ISO9001 certified organizations we find Hospitals, Hotels, Restaurants, Schools, etc
what examples of services organizations the automotive industry has?


2) ISO9001 requires 6 procedures, ISO/TS16946 requires those 6 plus one more, why those 6 or 7 documented procedures? why in those clauses? why not in 7.4 Purchasing or 7.6 Calibration or 7.3 Design & Development? what I mean is how ISO/TC 176 and/or IATF concluded that those were the only documented procedures needed (as minimum)?

It has been said that all work is service. The only manufacturing is our bodies making red blood cells.

Successful car dealerships realize that each of their customers is worth a $million if the service it right. So, they design and continually improve their services and their service delivery processes. Their management systems may conform to their national quality management system standard but they may not bother with certification.

Indeed, most manufacturing companies are encouraged to ignore the importance of services to their tangible goods; they exclude clause 7.3 and service design in their droves if they receive specs and drawings from their customers.

The documented procedures specified by management system standards may reflect they are for processes that often belong to nobody in the organization. I've seen them called "orphan processes".
