Engineering is seeking inputs for a checklist from supplier quality group. May I ask you to share what you'd include in a production readiness review checklist? The premise is based on new product and new/existing suppliers.
Thanks!
I've never been one to reinvent the wheel if someone else has a nice model at a reasonable price.
I have no idea what industry you may be in, but a great start (if it is done correctly and with true "partnership" between customer and supplier) is the automotive industry's PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process) - We have an entire Forum (
APQP and PPAP ) devoted to threads about the benefits and
abuses of the system. Why not take some time to browse through the threads and familiarize yourself (invite the engineers, too) with the concept and then come back to us with some details about your business so we can help you tailor a system to fit your needs.
There are some other items that will help you "tweak" PPAP into what you need (First Article, Control Plan, SPC, etc.), but it's easier to understand once you have the basics.
