How do you protect proprietary processes when performing a FAI under AS9102A when they are the primary notes on the drawing?

Not sure if I understand the question.

AS 9102 is not asking for the details of the process - the intent is to meet all of the requirements of the B/P.

Are we talking about form 2 or Form 3?

Why do you feel the need to "protect proprietary processes" when doing an FAI? The ballooned drawing and FAIR are your records. If someone is asking for a copy of those records, hopefully you will have a non-disclosure agreement in place before you furnish them. If you don't want to furnish copies of the records, tell the customer that they are available for on-site review.

Thanks for the answers. This is on an assembly FAI. I was filling out Form 3, and having it reviewed by my supervisor, when he noticed that the the engineering note described a proprietary process that he didn't feel the customer should know. I couldn't find anything in the standard, so I posted the question here.

NOTE: special procesess should be in form 2 not 3.

and... all you need to place in form 2 is to what standard or unique requirements this process was done.

in addition - In form 3 - make a statement - "see form 2"
