We are a tier one and two supplier to non-automotive customers. We deep draw stamp, laser cut, and weld items from small heat shields to parts of 3 cubic feet in size.
Problem: we are trying to arrange check fixtures, masters and 3 to 6 OP first piece parts all on one shelf with “CD Rack” separators. Currently the first pieces are kept separate from the masters but then no one looks at the masters because they are "out of the way" so they don't get mixed or damaged. Others want the Master parts separated because "if" they get damaged they become worthless.
What is the cove's thought of having check fixtures, “daily swapped” first pieces, and masters in one location, close to the shop floor, if we poke yoked the masters with a stripe of blue DYKEM?
Do you keep Masters separate or have them readily available?
