Hi Everyone!
We have a new customer that has QS or TS QMS supplier requirements which is fine. They have another requirement that has me scratching my head. They require that labeling of all shipments to comply with QS-600.
This is new to me. Does such a thing exist? Has anyone else heard of it?
It just keeps getting better all the time, right?
Thanks!

Sonjia:

A quick Google revealed lots of hits, but none of the first several looked like a standard. There are many products that use "QS 600" as a name. One of these products is a laser bar code scanner. Might that be what they are talking about?

Hope this helps.

I would contact the customer and get a clarification of what it is. This should be done during contract review prior to contract acceptance. If you don't know what it is, how do you know if you can meet the requirement?

Marc,
That is exactly what I ended up doing and without having to get all the specifics of this requirement, the customer and I determined that our labeling methods more than meet their requirements so it is not an issue.
And you are absolutely correct in saying that these matters need to be addressed in the contract review stage which is where we are on this project. Good point and thank you :D

Craig,
I also did a search and did not come up with much that made sense, but as I said, I got it worked out with our customer. It did have to do with labeling.

Thanks for the replies guys!
