I'd say give them only what you think is relavent and what you want them to see. If they say that's not enough, let them write a formal nonconformance against you and let's see what "shall" they say you are violating. My bet is it won't come to that.

Asking an authorized person to examine the records for the evidence you seek (as an auditor) is permissible provided such investigation is within the stated scope of the audit.

And the audit scope is determined by whatever is necessary to fulfill the audit objective.

It’s not a question of legal rights but of both parties sharing the same audit objective.
