Thanks for the response brad.... We have inspection stages in line. I have individual tracking of each inspection stages. But i could not consolidate the defects for a particular product / lot. for that i need to open 4-5 excel sheets. Also, we need to know if there is a new defect registered.That is why, if we have one software which can track defect wise, inspection stage wise, product wise, lot wise and customer wise that will be good.
Also for complaint tracking - complaints open and closed, waiting for verification.......
Regarding tooling management, the following are the issues.
1. Tool request is happening thro mails. some of them are not elevated to the next level till it becomes critical.
2.Also, repair request is happening thro register (hard copy). But we could not have track on the open items on line. we have a measure that it should be closed within so many days. but it is not measured effectively.
Atleast 5 to 6 people (Computers) should be able to raise the request. 2 people should be able to view the open status. there should be a an automatic acknowledgement of repair request.
It should give inputs to MTBF and MTTR.
