Quality Management System (QMS) Echo Training or Refresher

hello guys,

i will be orienting my co-workers about ISO 9001:2000, have already a module, just getting your opinions, or can you share your experiences, any tips or suggestions on echo training/orientation for QMS.

tnx a lot guys.


oh also for our quality objectives we have assigned one staff to collect all the data and then make a presentation for the management review, the qmr and top management assess the quality objectives and confer ideas how to improve them, applicability and formulate actions to be taken for those that does not meet the targets.
for continual improvement i have suggested that all department leaders will be the one in charge in assessing their quality objectives and to report them to the management (on a monthly basis of course).
iam making a memorandum for this transition but i'm in a bind of some sort, the reason i have made on the memo is for the continual improvement of the QMS, can you guys suggests any other reasons i can add to the memo.

Allow me to address the first part of your question. It's a caution....

It's great that you orient your folks on ISO 9001:2000. However, don't over-emphasize the Standard because your people soon will think that this is only about complying with the Standard and obtaining a certificate instead of the design, development and implementation of a solid quality management system that meets the needs and expectations of the stakeholders of your company.

Thank you for your clarification. Sorry that I misread your post.

In either case, New Folks and/or New QMS, we should never over-emphasize ISO standard requirements. Make your lessons relevant to the processes these new folks will be working in and their impact on the Customer and the Company.

This is also one of my tasks (one I really like: It allows me to get to know new people). I get the opportunity to meet all new staff for a discussion about our business management system and how it affects them.

I have to say that I mention the standards very sparingly, and emphasize the importance of our system instead. It is after all, the translation of the standards to our language and ways of doing things. I usually meet them one at the time, which is great as it allows us to have a discussion tailored to the individuals needs.
