'Quality Month' - Why is November chosen in many countries? Any significance?

I think the distinction is that January is to honor the accomplishments of black Americans where Feb. honors international black acheivment.

a last minute thought

Many companies see Quality as the gate-keeper rather than as a force for improvement. Is Quality Month assigned to the end of the year because in business we often forget about quality unti we're at the end of the line?

Here is a list of SOME of the month designations (mostly in the US). Funny enough I couldn't find April. Maybe that's "Don't make silly designations month".

I don't know of any clear reason behind choosing November as the quality month. Is there really a significant reason behind this?

A quick "google" search would have given you the answer:
In order to honor the major changes that were implemented in Japan, the Deming Award was established in 1951, sponsored by the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers. This award was given every November since 1950 to companies applying Deming teachings in Japan. In 1960, Japan was celebrating the 10th anniversary of the National Quality Award, so they declared November the Quality Month.
