Quality Newsletter - Has anyone done this before? Has it worked?

Hi All;

I want to establish a quality newsletter that is issued every few months, to keep everyone up to date on what we're doing in our QSM. The first one will focus on the upcoming 9001 certification audit, the second one will :cfingers: celebrate the news of getting certification; and from then on it can be used to roll out changes, etc.

I want it to be a motivational tool, so that people don't lose sight of quality. Ours is a broad business with many different sites, and I won't be able to get to them all to talk to people individually.

Has anyone done this before? Has it worked? Are there examples floating around that I could have a look at? Or suggestions of content?

Although we're just a small start-up (in the medical device world), I started a Quality Newsletter and it seems to be working. People are actually reading it (which is always a good sign). We feature our CAPAs, NCMRs, materiel updates, vendor updates, any V&V efforts, upcoming dates specific to quality, and then always a re-print of an article that focuses on where we're at as a company (last month was on design transfer).
All I did was download one of Microsofts newsletter templates, and I add clip art throughout to make it somewhat interesting.

I use newsletters to communicate to our staff all important notices regarding our Quality Management System. So updates and roll out of changes, notification of internal and external quality audits, results of the audits, even appointment of (new) Management Rep and any message from the Top Management on the QMS etc are done through the newsletters.

The downside is sometimes people do not read them especially if they are too regular and too preachy. To overcome this, I usually keep the content very simple and to the point. I also publish them only when I have an important announcement to make and that way I am able to ensure that all staff read the newsletters because by now they have learnt that a QMS newsletter would generally involve some follow-up on their part.
