Hi everyone,

I have a small doubt about creating and maintaining quality plan. Is it need to be created for each every parts that being made by the company or per assembly? Because one of my partner is saying that i can create per assembly also.

If any has the sample quality plan please share it for reference.

I expect your valuable comments .

Thanks in advance.

Re: Quality plan Needs

Hi.
based on the purpose of the QP I think that that desicion is based on the complexity of the process and products. My sugestion is if you have a very large different processes for different products, you can create a CP by family but if your processes are very similar for all products you built, a generic CP should be enough, just be sure you are covering all process steps required for all products.
Hope it helps.
Regards.

Re: Quality plan Needs

Thanks Tavoludo,

I appreciate your quick reply.

I understood your point. Can you tell me what'll be difference between CP and QP? And If do CP, is not necessary to do QP ?

Re: Quality plan Needs

It is best to have a process defined for all operations which are in your facilities. If this seems like too large of an undertaking then start with the big impact items first.

Re: Quality plan Needs

Is there any problem with applying the definitions of quality planing and quality plans that the ISO provides to help? I have found that once one goes beyond the specific definitions what we wind up having is interpretation, and interpretation is nothing more than "he-said, she-said", conjecture and opinion.

From ISO 9000:2005...

3.2.9 quality planning - part of quality management (3.2.8) focused on setting quality objectives (3.2.5) and specifying necessary operational processes (3.4.1) and related resources to fulfil the quality objectives

NOTE Establishing quality plans (3.7.5) can be part of quality planning.

3.7.5 quality plan - document (3.7.2) specifying which procedures (3.4.5) and associated resources shall be applied by whom and when to a specific project (3.4.3), product (3.4.2), process (3.4.1) or contract

NOTE 1 These procedures generally include those referring to quality management processes and to product realization processes.

NOTE 2 A quality plan often makes reference to parts of the quality manual (3.7.4) or to procedure documents.

NOTE 3 A quality plan is generally one of the results of quality planning (3.2.9).

A some point the user has to pick up the ball and run with it.

Ironically (or maybe not) the definitions you proceed to share are ISO's way of providing interpretation of the requirements.

Nope, not even close. The ISO provides the definitions to help avoid confusion and aid in understanding and application...But one has to have experience to understand that

Hi Arockia.
If you have read through the post # 5 from Randy, you must get rid of your small doubt and get big confidence.
Going top down, you can have a quality plan for your final product and this can drill down to smaller quality plans linked to your parts that go into the final product. :agree:
