Hi all,

I would like to know, if we got the letter of conformance (LOC)for TS16949 due to no customer order from automotive. In case we got the customer order from automotive, we just ask cert body to change the cert from LOC to TS16949 Regristration or we need to reassess the TS16949 before get the TS16949 regristration.

If we need to reassess, the man days use for reassessment is equal to the the man days to get the LOC or equal to the man days used for surveillance audit?

Thanks!!!

I am not familiar with the letter you are speaking of but I assume your registrar did an audit to verify your conformance although you are not yet eligible for TS16949 certification. The roll-over from compliance to certification is probably part of the agreement you have with your registrar. It would seem likely that any change in your status would require another audit but if I were you, I would contact my registrar and ask them.

As I recall (and it has been awhile), in addition to an automotive customer, you must also have 12 months of performance data to be registered to 16949. This is typically where the letter of conformance is used - for a company that is new (or new to automotive) and cannot show the history. They should be able to "upgrade" it at a normal 6/12 month audit, but they may want to add some time. Check with your registrar.
