Apparently John Quincy Adams was such a poor husband/family man that his own wife didn't even vote for him when he ran for president...why not?

If this is in reference to the fact that the election was decided in the House of Representatives, it doesn't mean that his wife didn't vote for him. There was a popular election before it went to the House.

My guess would be that women couldn't vote....but I'm too lazy to look it up.

And that relates to the assertion that he "was such a poor husband/family man" how?

As my grandmother, politically active throughout her life, often remarked, "Women won the right to vote for a Presidential Elector in Illinois by 1914."

Wyoming granted women the right to vote in 1869.

Understood, but the nineteenth amendment wasn't ratified until the summer of 1920.
