People ask all the time "Are you a former Marine", I smile and answer back that there is no such thing as a former Marine, we're either actively serving or not and we're either living or not, but we are never, ever former.

I do though proudly admit that I am a retired National Guardsman

My son is a medically-retired Marine...so I understand completely the mindset!


And my son-in-law is a proudly serving Ohio National Guardsman...
