REACH Registration Requirements - Who is required to Register

I work for a company that manufactures custom powder mixtures for use by other companies in their production. We are based in the US. Some are exported to the EU. One such media is exported to 4 different EU companies directly. In my read of REACH registrations, the importer needs to register. Is that right, so our customers would have to register the mixture? The name and mixture composition are proprietary. It looks like REACH posts the formulation for everyone to see. How is the confidentiality preserved? The mixtures are non-hazardous. I'm pretty sure other companies have already registered the components of the mix, though I'm in the process of checking that. Thanks for the help.
